Startup Day 2

Still on startup... Really fuckin' cold here. Supposed to be colder tomorrow.

Had a New Year's Eve dinner buffet for dinner. Was surprisingly good. I was kind of surprise at the quality of the ladies in the bar. Much higher percentage then I would expect. Some of them were even big city hot :)

Startup Day 1

In Carrington.

Could not find my hat yesterday, so I had to pickup a new one today. Got a knit hat with ear flaps. Totally not me but keeps me warmer because it is chilly here.

Not much going on except work.

Watched the first episode of Sons of Anarchy while catching up with the internet...

Made it to Fargo.

Watched Jennifer's Body on the plane. First half board me second half was kind of awesome...

Played a couple of hours of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the DS. Turns out I may have a career in drug trafficing... I did not realize it was as simple as driving to one side of town, buying something, drive to the other side and sell for huge profit.

Kind of sad that my joy of sitting next to a hottie on the plane was topped by her moving elsewhere allowing me to take her aisle seat. In my defense she was very very bitchy on the phone to whoever is picking her up.

A Vacation from my Vacation

Took the day off to recover from my vacation :)

Tried to find a copy of Drew's X-mas present after Amazon canceled on me. Talked to Chris for a bit. Ate at Famous Dave's where the waitress gave me an STD. Went to the Lego store. Which was a mistake since BellSquare traffic sucked. Went to the Stop and hung out with Brian until George showed up. Opened up X-mas gifts from Jim D., George, Beau and Mary Anne. Watched Van Wilder: Freshman Year while prepping for my work trip. (Horrible movie). All in all an OK day.

Kind of looking forward to my trip, not sure why.

Started reading Dreamsongs I again. Still not a fan of short story collections.

I tend to bring way more entertainment on trips then I could ever consume.

Cheated Death Again

Made it home.

Left Gillette with no seat on the plane from Salt Lake City. Got there just in time to get the last non-standby seat. Too bad there was no plane for that seat. It was an hour + late which meant that I was an hour + late leaving SLC. Had a nice conversation with a barista from Lynnwood. Made me glad that I have a real college degree and a real job.

Watched 500 Days of Summer during my various plane rides. I enjoyed it. Enough said.

Had breakfast at a restaurant that still allows smoking. I did not realize they still exist.

I really need to figure out how to turn off all these stupid HP "Make Your Computer Easier" process that keep popping up on this laptop since the Windows 7 Upgrade.

I don't miss the snow

Woke this morning to much snow outside.

Luckily Dad has someone come by and plow the driveway so all I had to shovel where the deck and little bit of the sidewalk. After the drive was plowed we were able to escape for a pretty damn good lunch.

Later we went to the Prime Rib for some prime rib. Was not that good but not complaining.

Watched the first part of Doctor Who: The End of Time. Was not really digging it until the end with the Master Race and the return of the Time Lords.

Finished Suicide Kings. It was really fun but it still disappoints me when my favorite characters keep dying.

Read the first volume of The Mighty. It was very good but it got me thinking that there are a lot of "evil" Superman books out now.

Flying home tomorrow. Will miss Dad but will be very nice to be in own bed for a couple of nights. That is assuming weather and or heighten security does not stop my return home.

A return?

For the second time in the last month I had a reason to return to the Super Boring Blog and I have found pleasure in reading the messages of the past. So as I set here in the middle of a blizzard in Wyoming, I think I may start this up again. I will be going into this knowing that I am my target audience so maybe this time I won't get burned out... I give me a week tops. :)

Went to see Sherlock Holmes with Jan. The movie was pretty good, but a little long. The weather was such that we should not have been out and about.

Had a good dinner with Dad, Joyce, Jan, Rick, and Chris. Plus their kid is super cute.

Currently I am reading the latest Wild Cards book, Suicide Kings. Before I left I was able to pick up my comics for the week. My haul included a bunch of trades which I have been enjoying. Just finished the Dark Reign: The Hood trade before I decided to come down and post this.

Even though I am sleeping on an uncomfortable bed, I have been sleeping pretty well here. I think I may have righted my self emotionally again, with the constant bitch slaps finally taking a break from knocking me on my ass. Almost made it a year without a train wreck. Slightly disappointed but also kind of pleased that I made it so long. Maybe I am finally reaching the end of the tunnel.

I am sure Future Me is laughing at the naivete of Present Me. Well Future Me can bite it.
